Almost finished with the tutorial & I am working on a new bead embroidery piece!

Yes I finally finished the graphics today of the tutorial and now it just has to be tested…

I do hope that I can launch it this saturday… but I can’t promise it!

In between I began on a new bead embroidery project… It’s going to be a necklace that will be made of loose components…

The name I chose for the necklace is going to be Pebbles… Although you would think I called it after the shape… I actually thought about that lovely babygirl in the cartoon The Flintstones!

The pendant is quite large I guess… the cabs are made of stone that you usually use in mosaics… but why not use them in bead embroidery? It has a flat back… Just a tad thicker on the side… But that doesn’t matter to me 😀

I used 8/0 seedbeads for bezeling them… and 11/0 seedbeads to close them.

When I bezeled them apart from eachother I wanted them to be together so I glued them down on another piece of backing and stitch them on to that… Then a lovely genuine leather was placed as finish… I didn’t take a picture of that… But that will come later!

On the sides I used 15/0  seedbeads of 3 in a row because the side that you have to bead was quite thick and I couldn’t do it any other way… But it looks very nice!

The pendant piece…

On the next picture you can see that I left the middle open…

I had to order some more 8/0 and 15/0  seedbeads… Otherwise I can’t finish the necklace… They shipped today so I do hope they are here tomorrow or saturday!

I will keep you guys updated about the tutorial and the necklace!

See you next time ^_^

Information about the tutorial:

When I bead and design I always look for names that clicks with the piece that I am making… With this pendant I came across Kallista. The name Kallista is Greek of origin and has the meaning: most beautiful.

Almost immediately I fell in love with the name and had to insert it into the title! And thus, Star of Kallista was born.

Well that’s it for today…

Helaine, a spikey beadwork pendant & new photo’s of Dianthe

I’ve been busy today but I’ve made some new photo’s of Dianthe and of my new beadwork pendant with black spikes that I named Helaine. I used 4 mm firepolished beads, 11/0 and 15/0 seebbeads. This one I will keep in my private collection!

Helaine

And two more pictures of Dianthe:

Here you can see how deep the rivoli sits.

And also, I have found three testers for my pattern Star of Kallista… I am so happy that they can and will test it for me!

See you next time!

A quick post…

Just as the title says… just a quick post.

I’ve just ended on the 26th page of the tutorial… Most of the tutorial is done but now comes the hard part for me for the graphics… Still have to resolve the bump that I encountered creating those…

But, I will succeed! Haha.

And another pendant is made… I think this one will be for me 😛

See you next time!

Dianthe – a beadwork pendant

So, yesterday I’ve been playing with some beads and babyspikes and this is the result… I’m still debating if I should re-do the pendant and get the spikes a bit more tighter on it… and if I will keep it for myself or that it will go on the website for sale…

Off course I won’t forget to post the photo that goes with it *laughs*

'Dianthe'

In the middle sits an 18 mm bezeled swarovski rivoli. I used 11/0 and 15/0 seedbeads, small cubes by toho, firepolished beads 4 mm and babyspikes 5×8 mm.

Hope you like it!

See you next time 🙂
